This post will be discussing the first of the Reiki Chakras, the Root Chakra along with it’s associated traits and their meanings.
As discussed in The 7 Reiki Chakras post, each Chakra is linked to a specific energy centre on the body and is positioned to correspond with a major endocrine gland, which controls overall hormonal balance.
During a Reiki Healing Session, the Reiki Practitioner will focus on clearing energy blockages and thereby helping the client resolve any imbalances which maybe affecting mood, mental clarity, spiritual connection, as well mental physical health.
1) Root Chakra- Muladhara
Representing – the connection to the energy of the Earth, Grounding, Presence, Feeling safe in the physical reality, Self preservation
Imbalances – Insecurity, Fear, Anger
Location – the end of the spine, between the anus and sexual organs
Color – Red
Sound – Lam
Element – Earth
Affirmation – ‘I am connected to the energy of Mother Earth. My body, mind, and spirit are grounded, centered, and purified’
Crystals & Gemstones – Hematite, Obsidian, Tiger’s Eye, Jasper, Garnet, Ruby
Essential Oil – Sandalwood, Patchouli, Myrrh, Cedarwood
